It’s been a week since recording the first episode of The Solutions Architect Experience Podcast with Owen Reynolds. Released the episode on Monday September 16th and been watching the stats on RSS.com, Blubrry.com and YouTube and it has been quite interesting. Views started off slowly, but I noticed an increase in traffic on both my personal website jesseboehm.com and the podcast website TheSAEP.com, which is the new URL. The original URL was replaced as it was too hard to pronounce a spell easily when being transcribed. Google Analytics was showing traffic from users all over the world.
I invested in a plugin for the TheSAEP.com called EasyPodcastPro which lets you add the RSS Stream URL into your site and capture statistics from the feed on RSS/Blubrry. Since doing that views have picked up immensely for a show with a very niche audience.
As of this writing we show 87 Downloads on RSS, 74 Downloads on Blubrry and 48 views on YouTube. We currently have users watching in the USA, Canada, India, Saudi Arabia, Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Philippines, Russia, and Germany streaming from every major platform and on the podcast site itself. Not bad for the first episode.
Can you do the thing? We have achieved more the 50 downloads which was my made-up goal of success for the first week. I am incredibly happy with the results and the amount of traffic it has driven to my websites from all over the world.
Next up I will be recording the next show with Citrix CTP Sam Jacobs and then Richard Faulkner with Ferroque Systems on back-to-back weekends.
Took this weekend off from recording as it is my daughter Karli Rae Boehm’s Thirteenth birthday, and we are celebrating this wonderful, witty, crafty, beautiful special kid. I don’t know how she is Thirteen as she was just two a year ago…
I want to thank Owen Reynold’s again for being on the first show and kicking this off with us. It is appreciated and was nice to reconnect with Owen.
Here is to Episode 2 which will be released the week of October 1st.
Thanks for reading and listening to the show…
